Everything you need to get HapticPad working perfectly.
Email SupportHapticPad requires a Mac with a Force Touch trackpad running macOS 13 Ventura or later. Force Touch was introduced in 2015 - most MacBooks from that year onwards are supported. Note that the MacBook Neo does not include a Force Touch trackpad and is not compatible. The Apple Magic Trackpad 2 and 3 are also supported. Standard external mice are not.
Open System Settings, go to Trackpad, and look for a "Force Click and haptic feedback" toggle. If it's there, your Mac supports Force Touch and HapticPad will work.
Currently HapticPad supports Google Chrome only. The Chrome extension is what detects element hover events and communicates with the Mac app. Support for other browsers may come in a future update.
Yes - HapticPad runs as a menu bar app in the background. It uses very little CPU or memory and won't noticeably affect your Mac's performance. You can set it to launch at login from the app's settings.
The most common cause is the Chrome extension not being installed or enabled. Make sure you've added the HapticPad extension from the Chrome Web Store and that it's active. You can check by clicking the puzzle icon in Chrome's toolbar.
Make sure the HapticPad Mac app is running - look for its icon in your menu bar. Also check that "Force Click and haptic feedback" is enabled in System Settings - Trackpad. If it's still not working, try quitting and relaunching the Mac app.
Yes. HapticPad requires accessibility permissions to send haptic feedback through the trackpad. This is a standard macOS security requirement. The app only uses this permission to fire haptics - it cannot read your screen or control your Mac.
HapticPad includes a full 7-day free trial with no credit card required and no account needed. All features are available during the trial. After 7 days, you can purchase a license from within the app for a one-time payment.
Because HapticPad is distributed through the Mac App Store, your license is tied to your Apple ID. Simply download HapticPad from the App Store on your new Mac and sign in with the same Apple ID - no extra steps required.
Refunds are handled by Apple through the Mac App Store. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple typically approves refunds within 14 days of purchase.
No. The Chrome extension detects only the type of element your cursor is over - link, button, or input. It never reads page content, URLs, or any other browsing data. Nothing leaves your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
HapticPad is designed to be extremely lightweight. The Mac app idles at near-zero CPU usage. The Chrome extension only activates on mouse hover events. In practice, the impact on battery life is negligible.
