HapticPad is built with privacy as a default, not an afterthought.
HapticPad collects no personal data. The Mac app and Chrome extension do not track you, profile you, or send any information about your browsing to us or any third party.
The Chrome extension detects when your cursor hovers over interactive elements - links, buttons, and inputs - and signals the Mac app to fire haptic feedback. It detects only the element type (link, button, or input). It does not read, store, or transmit:
All communication happens locally between the Chrome extension and the Mac app via a WebSocket connection on your device. Nothing leaves your device.
Purchases are handled entirely through the Mac App Store by Apple. We do not process payments directly and do not receive your payment details. Apple's privacy policy governs that transaction.
No account is required to use HapticPad. Your license is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any Mac via the App Store.
HapticPad does not include any third-party analytics SDKs. If you opt in to sharing diagnostics with Apple through macOS system settings, Apple may share anonymised crash reports with us. We use these only to fix bugs.
Your HapticPad settings (chosen haptic patterns per element type) are stored locally on your Mac using macOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device.
HapticPad does not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of HapticPad after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
